Happy 35th Birthday Mommy!

Thursday was the big 35 and it was a very nice day.  It all began with waking up to some birthday decorations and flowers courtesy of daddy!

After a busy day with the kids, it was out to supper at one of our favorite restaurants, Dillons Grand.  The meal was delicious and the company was excellent.  With supper over, it was time to go home and open some presents.  Isn't that everyone's favorite part? I got a lot of wonderful things and am so lucky to have such and amazing group of friends and family!

J.T. waited all day to show me his card.  He was so proud!
Finally, it was time for cake and ice cream!!!

Probably the most memorable part of the evening was the numerous, I am talking around 50, times the kids opened and listened to the hilarious card sent by Ryan, Milissa, Jace and Evan.  Listen carefully, it is a good one!

Thank you to everyone.  It was a very special day!!

First Day of Snowplow Sam 2

With the addition of T-Ball, we have moved our skating lessons to Wednesday nights.  This week was J.T.'s first lesson in Snowplow Sam 2.  He did great!!

We are still having some issues with him wanting to race every time down the ice.  Sure enough, there has to be another kid in the class with the same mentality.  We have had a few tears when we don't win, but with the teacher's help, we are working on it!

He gets better with every lesson and his skills are really improving.  I am so proud!

Happy Halloween

After a month of waiting, my favorite holiday finally arrived.  It occurred to me, sitting out on my driveway passing out candy, that I do a heck of a lot for 2 hours of trick-or-treaters.  Oh well, I love it!

It wouldn't be Halloween without our Halloween day attire!

After our annual Halloween supper, this year it was mummy dogs and ghost bread, it was time to go trick-or-treating!

This year J.T. decided that he wanted to be MONEY.  We came upon this outfit because he is a huge Spongebob fan and I was not going to spend $40.00 for a Spongebob Squarepants costume.  Mr. Krabs, who is part of the TV show, loves his MONEY, so we decided to make J.T. Mr. Krab's money!

Zoe is all about everything and anything Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, especially Minnie Mouse.

Finally, it was time to go trick-or-treating.  They were both pretty good for about half of the neighborhood, then Zoe got a little scared of some of the houses and of some of the costumes. By this time, daddy was home from work, so we made a pit stop home to drop off our Minnie.  J.T. and I headed out to finish off the neighborhood.

It was a fun night that always goes way too fast.  J.T. and Zoe both had a great time and can't wait to dig into their candy.  There is enough to feed an army!

Until next year Halloween, we will miss you and be counting down the days!

Pumpkin Carving 2010

In the craziness of the day, we also managed to get our pumpkins carved for tomorrow!  This is a job that I let John take care of all by himself!  The only part I have in the whole process is drawing the face on the pumpkins, the rest is him!!!  Zoe actually took part in the festivities this year, as we carved during the afternoon and not right before bed time.

J.T. has some mad cutting skills.  Do you think it is the mouth movement while he is cutting?!?!?!  So cute!

It was so fun to watch them work together at getting the pumpkin cleaned out.  We had to cut them off at about 10 minutes, or we could have been there all night!

It wouldn't be pumpkin carving if we didn't have the annual eating the seeds picture!

The past few days, Zoe has decided that she is a dog.  She has been barking and panting and licking!  I wonder who she gets that from?  Could it be her father?!?

The final product...Pumpkins 2010.  Great job!

Saturday October 30th

Today was J.T.'s last day of Snowplow Sam 1.  He will start his new session of Snowplow Sam 2 on Wednesday, November 3rd.  He was so excited to pass his class.

Only one video today and the only question I have is, "Is it okay to laugh at your child when he biffs it on the ice?"!

Tonight was the annual G.A.I.N night at the Surprise Park.  This is an event the Police department puts on every year.  There is trick-or-treating for the kids, inflatables and door prizes...which we never win!!!  The kids always have fun!

Zoe was really getting into the music!  I don't know where she learned her moves.

Can you tell which one had too much sugar tonight?!?!?!  Zoe was so tired, she fell asleep with her sucker in tow!

Giving Back

For J.T.'s birthday party this year, we decided to have the kids bring a new toy as a donation to the Phoenix Children's Hospital.  Today was the day we were finally able to deliver all of our goodies.  I was so proud of J.T. and Zoe.  I asked J.T. if he knew what we were doing and he said, "Yes mommy, we are delivering all these toys to the sick kids who don't have any to play with."  TEARS!!!  It was a great trip!

Ready to unload

Time to head home!

J.T. is a Lansing Lugnut!

We had our first t-ball practice tonight for the Lansing Lugnuts.   Things went pretty good, considering J.T. hasn't touched a ball much at all!  Sounds like we will practice once a week and play games on Saturday mornings.  The first game is November 6th.

Everyone was ready to go when we got there, including Zoe.  Who cares if the glove is on the wrong hand?!?!?!

I think there are 10 kids on J.T. team, two being girls, and everyone was very excited to get out on the field.
After some stretching, it was time to practice throwing.  This was quite a site and a few laughs were shared by the parents in the stands!

The surprise of the night came at the end of practice when we found out the kids got real uniforms.  J.T. looks so darn cute...ah, I mean tough...in his Lugnuts gear!

He is one excited kid.  Let's play some ball! Go Lugnuts!!!
