What I am thankful for...

That Aunt Ashley was able to get this pineapple together and standing!  It was a bear.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We love you and miss you all!

Well, we decided to put the Christmas stuff up before we left for Carmel.  So, when mommy was inside cleaning and unpacking, daddy took the kids outside to sort through lights and have some fun!

She thought she was getting her picture taken, that is why she is saying, "Cheese!".

Lansing Lugnuts game 3

It was game 3 yesterday and I can say that J.T. gets better and better with every game.  He hit the ball really well and ran super fast!  We still have to work on the crying when he doesn't get a ball, but that will come.  Go Lugnuts!

Like I said, we are working on the tears.

Meeting Santa

After skating, yesterday, we took the kids to meet Santa.  We usually go early, so we don't have to wait in lines the closer Christmas gets.  J.T. was awesome this year, finally!!!  He walked right up, sat on Santa's lap and told him what he wanted for Christmas.  Zoe was all excited to see Santa until we actually got there.  Then, she got a little nervous.  As long as I was holding her, she was fine.  She kept looking at him and saying, "Hi Santa, me Zoe."  She also told him, "I want a bike."  So, with the wish lists delivered, we sat down for our annual Santa picture.

Snowplow Sam 2

Tonight was another Snowplow Sam 2 lesson and J.T. actually did a lot of things he hasn't worked on before.  It was fun to see him having a good time out on the ice and trying new things.  He gets better every lesson!

They started out practicing their toe and heel touches. 

After that, it was time for some backward skating.  He is getting so fast.

In this video, they were supposed to skate as fast as they could to the other side and stop before they got to the boards.  Does this count as completing the task?

She let the boys get some energy out and race each other a couple of times.

Next, they practiced jumping and spinning on the ice. 

Finally, it was time to try some big circles.

What a great practice...now off to the mall to meet Santa!

Boys Day Out to the Races

Daddy decided that he needed a J.T. day, so they packed up after t-ball and headed to Phoenix International Raceway to catch some practice laps and part of the Nationwide Series race.  Mommy and Zoe stayed behind and decided to go do a little shopping!!!

This may upset a few people back home, as it does mommy, but J.T.'s favorite race car is the #24.  I guess they arrived just in time to see his practice session today.  Don't worry, he likes the #48 as well...mommy's favorite!!  Anyway, here are some pictures from the day.  They had a great time!!!

Lansing Lugnuts game 2

Today was game two for the Lansing Lugnuts.  We got to play on the Texas Rangers practice fields, so that was exciting.  Our next door neighbor, Andre, came and watched J.T. play today, so he had his own little fan club!

 J.T.'s biggest fan!  Zoe was so cute today.  When we got to the car, she looked at J.T. and said, "J.T., you were awesome today."  Those were her exact words!

Painting for Thanksgiving

Well, mommy doesn't have a lot of Thanksgiving decorations, so we decided it was time to make some.  I told J.T. on Monday that we were going to paint today.  I think he has asked me every day, since, if today was the day to paint.  When I told him last night that we were going to paint this morning, he was a happy camper.  The first thing he said to me this morning was that he was so excited and couldn't wait to paint.  

The first thing we needed to do was get our painting gear on and take a picture of the "before" product.

It was time to start painting.  I don't know what I would do without washable paint...thank you Crayola!

 

After about an hour and a little help from mommy, the masterpieces were complete.

"Me Zoe"

We have been trying for awhile to teach Zoe her name.  She could look at all of us and say, "You J.T., you Momma, you Dadda.", but has never been able to say her own name.  Finally, after weeks of trying, she has it down.  She is so cute, she will walk around and point to herself and say, "Me Zoe!". 

Lansing Lugnuts first game

Today was the Lansing Lugnuts first t-ball game of the season.  I don't think J.T. really knew what to make of the whole situation.  He has never really been on a "team" before.  There were lots of grass-stains and tears, but all-in-all it went very well.  Daddy helped the coach out today, so that made things a bit easier for J.T. to have him right there.  He wants to go back, so that is a positive!

We started out with a little catch.  I think I got my best pictures during warm-up, as I didn't have a fence to deal with.

It was hilarious to see all the kids pile up on the ball after it was hit.  I am surprised someone didn't get hurt.  They had to constantly be reminded that they were on the same team, so they wouldn't fight over the ball.

Offense was a bit of an issue.  Let's just say J.T. isn't Carl Lewis.  He decided that he didn't want to run today, so he got out a couple of times.  Oh well, he looked good doing it.  

Zoe was very supportive of her big brother.  She was cheering and clapping the whole game.  

And so it was over.  Who knows what the score was.  Everyone batted and everyone scored.  Time for the official end of game hand shake.

Zoo Lights 11-05-10

Last night we went to our annual Zoo Lights adventure at the Phoenix Zoo.  We always enjoy all the wonderful food, music and of course the lights.  We got there a little late this year because J.T. had t-ball practice before, so we headed straight for the food when we arrived. As always, it was yummy!

 Had to post this one of Zoe in the middle of a sneeze and not sure what J.T. is doing!

With our bellies were full, we headed out to look at all the cool lights.  One of the highlights of the evening is the light show set to music.  I think J.T. must have told me 20 times, after the show, that he thought that was the neatest thing he had ever seen. 

We decided to take a pit stop at the carousel before our final light adventure!

We found a really neat lion all lit up.  Daddy and J.T. decided to have some fun.
